In the morning, Davian Martikov talks to us. Adrian Martikov and Dag, his Daughter’s Husband (Son-in-law?)
Party says to put caravan on hold.
Yipster Hill is where forest folk once worshipped ladies 3. Strahd stole their power, causing a rift between 2 tribes. Yipster Hill is where the druids that worship Strahd live.
Vallaki Bergomaster set out a decree that Strahd shall never be spoken of or written down, at least in name. They refer to him as “The Devil”. That man will do almost anything to delude that they’re being protected. Adrian Martikov thinks the Vallaki Bergomaster is a person who tries to make himself believe in what he’s doing. Martikovs family became prominent when they married into the noble kreskov family, who also happens to be loyal to Strahd. That’s why they were bequeathed the winery and vineyard. They had an arranged marriage between the 2 families, eventually one of the Martikov descendants took over this land. Bergomaster of Krez is a Kreskov family. Krezk is a city in the north-west (circled in yellow)
Druids aren’t always there, they somtimes roam the Svalich Woods.
Party sets out towards Yipster Hill.
Moving stealthily, they climb in some trees to hide from wolves. They successfully hide! It looked like the wolves knew we were here, and were being commanded by something.
Party reaches Yipster hill.
Huge hill full of dead grass. Lots of stone Cairns all over the hill. At the top is a wide ring of black boulders combined with smaller rocks. Dark ominous clouds gather above, and a single bolt of lightning strikes the hilltop. West of the hill, the rest of the land vanishes behind a towering wall of fog.
Party ambushes 2 muscular figures patrolling the forest at the edge of the hill. They took out a Greataxe… FIGHT:
- 2 Muscular Druids?
While charmed, one druid reveals: Ritual is about to occur any moment. Tied up a Druid and interrogated him after the fight. Summoning Ritual for powerful Ent is starting.
The Magic Gem Seed is used for the ritual. “…The statue of the great one… top of the hill…” Party kills the Druid.
Rowan spots at least 3 more creatures up the hill. Party continues up the hill, trying to stealth. Party reaches the ring of stone, at the walls.
Pallas climbs up to take a look. Inside the stone ring, Pallas sees: Field of dead grass. Around the rest of the rocks, lightning strikes the edges from time to time. These lightning strikes illuminate a ghastly 50-foot tall statue made of tightly woven twigs packed with black earth. The status resembles a towering cloaked man with fangs.
